3. PRECIPITATION
Precipitation height (measured in mm ) is given for the last minute, with a resolution of 0.1 mm.
Furthermore, Hourly (past 60 minutes), and Daily (past 24 hours) sums can be seen.
A color scale is used in the first page map for the easy visualization (and direct recognition) of precipitation intensity.
Hence, in each station, the values-cell background color changes according to precipitation intensity as follows :
YELLOW → No rain during the last 5 minutes.
GRAY → Light rain (precipitation heights from 0.1 to 0.5 mm / min has been recorded) within the last 5 minutes.
ORANGE → Medium ~ Heavy rain [precipitation heights from 0.5 to 1.0 mm / min (or 3 to 6 cm/hr) has been recorded] within the last 5 minutes.
RED → Heavy ~ Extreme rain [precipitation rate higher than 1.0 mm / min (or 6 cm/hr) has been recorded] within the last 5 minutes,
Note :
The aforementioned Rain Intensity color scale is not depicted only in "Precipitation" maps, but in every parameter map (ie. a gray/orange/red colored cell can be seen under wind or temperature or solar irradiance map).
